MVP means revenue learning, not “half an enterprise suite”
Your v1 should prove one job-to-be-done for one buyer persona. Everything else is a backlog item with a name, not a launch blocker.
Must-haves
- Sign up / login / password reset
- Tenant isolation (data separation)
- Core workflow that creates value in <10 minutes
- Admin kill-switch / user disable
- Basic billing or manual invoicing path
- Logs for “what broke for customer X”
Cut from v1

- Native mobile apps
- Every integration under the sun
- White-label theming
- AI features with no data flywheel
More: SaaS product development.
FAQ
How long is a real MVP?
Often 8–20 weeks for a focused multi-tenant web MVP with a small team.
Next steps
MVP means one job, one buyer, real tenants
If v1 is “half of Salesforce plus AI plus a marketplace,” it is not an MVP. It is a fantasy with a burn rate. Prove one job-to-be-done for one persona. Everything else is a backlog item with a name. ZynVoss LLC will cut features in the written scope so launch can happen in this calendar year.
Must-haves we will not skip
- Sign up, login, password reset.
- Tenant isolation you can test: company A cannot see company B, including in search and exports.
- A core workflow that creates value in under ten minutes.
- An admin kill-switch / disable user.
- Billing or a manual invoice path. Stripe is fine. We do not store PAN.
- Logs for “what broke for customer X.”
- Staging, backups, a restore test, HTTPS.
Cut from v1 without shame
Five layers of roles. Native apps. Every integration. White-label themes. AI that has no data. SSO. A public marketplace of add-ons. Those are how 8–20 week MVPs become 14-month science projects. Focused multi-tenant web with a small team is often 8–20 weeks and $50k–$200k+. Internal tools are cheaper because tenancy and billing go away. See SaaS development and MVP vs prototype.
Launch is not a press release. Launch is five real companies, a way they can leave with their data, and a person who answers when tenant three cannot log in on Monday.
Tenants will do things you did not design
Company A will export. Company B will paste a spreadsheet with 40 columns named “asdf.” Company C will share a login. Tenant isolation has to survive search, exports, and backups. Test it by logging in as A and searching for B’s customer name. If you find it, you do not have SaaS. You have a shared database with a costume. ZynVoss LLC will not launch until that test is boring.
Billing: Stripe. Manual invoice path for the first five customers is allowed. An admin kill-switch is not optional. A way they can leave with their data is not optional. 8–20 weeks for a focused web MVP. $50k–$200k+ is the honest band. Internal tools skip tenancy and cost less. See MVP vs prototype and cost.
